For the first value scale assignment we used three different mediums: graphite, pen, and marker. I used three different techniques for each medium. With the graphite I practiced a shaded, hatched, and random mark technique. With the pen I used a hatched, random mark, and stippled technique; and with the marker I chose to do a shaded, hatched, and stippled technique. We have not used pen or marker in our drawings; it was interesting working with new mediums and learning some of there properties. I thought the marker was difficult to work with but I am excited to start using new materials.
