When it comes to sketching I usually try to avoid it at all costs. It has always been my weakest area of "art". I can appreciate it fully, but I gave up on it a long time ago.
After procrastinating and grunting for a few hours I started to draw my leaves. At first i was working with brown withered leaves that were twisted up into delicate swirls. I eventually moved on to the bamboo leaf after really examining one and noticing all the interesting detail it had. This bamboo leaf is one of my favorite because it show the best detail of the actual leaf (at least in my opinion). It was drawn on September 4th in my living room. It took me about 27 minutes- when I had finished the basic sketch I realized I liked it so I went back and added detail.
